Minister of Dali Temple

Chapter 13: Witnesses
The next day was a day off, and when Su Moyi woke up, it was almost noon.

The consequences of a hangover are dry mouth and memory loss.

Su Moyi stood up and poured himself a cup of tea. The last scene he vaguely remembered was Lin Wanqing pinching his nose and forcing him to drink.

"Ye Qing," he called out, his voice still a little hoarse, "Where is Registrar Lin?"

Ye Qing choked, and his expression, which was already difficult to describe, became even more helpless.

We just spent a wonderful night together last night, but now he has to look for someone as soon as he wakes up...

He sighed and replied, "Recruiter Lin said that the master had no arrangements for her today, so she went out early in the morning."

Su Moyi sneered when he heard this.

I know I should hide myself first after I get into trouble.

"Didn't you say where you were going?"

Ye Qing tried his best to maintain his increasingly broken expression and whispered "No".

Su Moyi's pupils shrank, and his face was full of dissatisfaction.

Ye Qing noticed this dissatisfaction. He didn't want to offend Su Moyi, so he went out and quietly ordered a vanilla bath for him.

The steamy clean room is filled with a fresh smell, which is very effective in soothing a hangover headache.

Su Moyi closed his eyes and leaned against the bathtub, his perfectly shaped arms casually resting on the edge of the tub, and let out a long sigh of relief.

The misty water vapor made him slightly tipsy, and his consciousness began to relax.

In the strict Dali Temple and the imperial court, he had never encountered a character like Lin Wanqing.

When he is stubborn, he is like a donkey; when he is crazy, he is like a cat.

He couldn't help but laugh, thinking that it was quite interesting to compete with her several times.

Su Moyi could of course see that Lin Wanqing was trying his best to go to that file room. As for the reason, it was nothing more than satisfying his own curiosity while gaining experience from the predecessors so that he could show his skills in the future.

In this case, he felt that he could hold on to this bargaining chip for a little longer.

Su Moyi was lost in thought, his arms hanging down, and he accidentally touched the bath towel floating on the water.

He was stunned. This soft touch seemed to be something he had felt somewhere last night.

But, last night...

he didn't seem to have touched anyone. The only person who had physical contact with him was Lin Wanqing, who carried him back.

"Sir," Ye Qing's voice came from outside the door, interrupting his thoughts.

Su Moyi put the towel in the bucket over his shoulders and asked Ye Qing to come in and talk.

"Secretary Song still declined due to illness and refused to accept questioning by the Dali Temple." Ye Qing said.

"Oh," Su Moyi said sarcastically, "this old fox."

He slowly leaned back to the bathtub, and began to ponder with a cold expression.

Song Zhengxing's case is also related to a Yellow River disaster relief effort two years ago.

Problems with disaster relief funds are common throughout the dynasties and are not something to be surprised about. After all, it's just a matter of time before those who deserve to be killed will be killed, and those who deserve to be demoted will be demoted. If the people below were sensible and took some of the money without causing any loss and did their job effectively, the emperor might turn a blind eye and let it go.

But the disaster relief that time was special in that the relief funds collected by the imperial court from various prefectures actually contained inferior "fake silver".

Of the 500,000 taels of official silver collected, more than 200,000 taels were "fake silver" mixed with other metals.

Two hundred thousand taels is the tax revenue of a state for an entire year. If it flows into the market, it will cause soaring prices and the decline of people's livelihood.

What is even more frightening is that the silver came from the official treasuries of various states.

This undoubtedly crossed the emperor's bottom line.

The emperor was furious and ordered a thorough investigation immediately. However, the disaster has already developed to an uncontrollable level. If we spare the energy to conduct a thorough investigation, people's livelihood will inevitably be used as a bargaining chip in internal strife.

Finally, the Ministry of Justice convicted more than 50 people from the Mint and several subordinate mines, and the main culprit committed suicide out of fear of punishment. This matter can no longer be investigated further.

In the final analysis, those people were able to escape by taking advantage of the flood.

But these natural disasters and man-made disasters are never controllable by humans.

Su Moyi doesn't believe in coincidences.

Disasters are uncontrollable, but the time of reporting to the court is controllable.

If the news of the flood had arrived half a month earlier, the emperor would not have been in such a passive situation.

For this to be accomplished, three conditions must be met, none of which can be missing: first, the emperor must learn of the disaster; second, all clues that can be investigated further must be cleared up; and third, a relationship with a subordinate official mine.

After Su Moyi sorted out the clues, he found that among the senior officials in the court, only Song Zhengxing had such ability.

He served as an official for decades and served two generations of kings. During the previous dynasty, he served as the governor of Hongzhou, where the mining industry was developed. He was then transferred to the position of Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice by the previous emperor. Soon after being promoted to the position of Minister of the Ministry of Justice, he was appointed Minister of the Central Secretariat by the emperor.

But suspicion is suspicion, there is no evidence, and even no motive. Of course, the Dali Temple cannot interrogate an important official in the court at will. In the end, they could only place an informant in his house and wait and see what would happen.

In Wang Hu's case, Song Zhengxing was the victim.

The crime scene was not at his house and could not be searched.

He only responded once to the previous inquiries, acted as if he was heartbroken and at a loss, and only explained some useless things over and over again.

Now, as long as he keeps using the excuse of losing his loved one and avoiding the sad scene to avoid seeing her, Su Moyi can't find a reason to forcibly interrogate him.

Therefore, Song Zhengxing has not made any breakthroughs in these days.

We can't just sit there and wait for death.

Su Moyi suppressed his emotions, looked up at Ye Qing and said, "After dark tonight, come with me to check out the Song Mansion."

Ye Qing widened his eyes, thinking that this proposal was too risky, "Sir, you want to go in person?"

Su Moyi looked at him and almost rolled his eyes, "In the Dali Temple, you are the only person I completely trust."

Ye Qing was very moved, and with red eyes he was about to thank Lord Su for his kindness, but he heard Su Moyi's cold voice.

He said: "But your brain is not working well, so I can only do it myself."

Ye Qing: "..."

*

The night fell, and a new moon was like a hook in the sky.

Lin Wanqing spent the entire day in Pingkangfang, asking the Hua Niang everything he had not had time to ask yesterday.

It was past mealtime and she hadn't had time to eat, so she ordered a bowl of wontons from a street stall.

While eating, she flipped through the booklet in her hand and circled the men who were known to the victims.

The sound of horse hooves rang in my ears.

Lin Wanqing looked up and saw a horse-drawn carriage slowly stopping at the door of a mansion not far away, with many people following it.

Song Mansion?

She was startled and put down her chopsticks and asked, "Is that the residence of Lord Song, a high-ranking official in the court?"

The vendor answered "yes" without even raising his head.

Lin Wanqing couldn't help but take a few more glances.

After the carriage stopped, the people nearby were busy moving things. It looked like a small opera troupe with good feng shui. It must be because of what happened to Aunt Zhao before, and he wanted to go to the Song Mansion to get rid of the bad luck.

Lin Wanqing smiled, thinking that she had a serious occupational disease. When she was about to look away, she suddenly saw a maid in a green skirt coming out of the mansion.

Because the distance was too far, Lin Wanqing couldn't see her face clearly, but she could still see the characteristics of her body.

She walks more unsteadily than normal people, and it seems that she has a limp.

A string in my head suddenly tightened.

Lin Wanqing quickly put down his chopsticks and walked along the street to a big tree near the side door of the Song Mansion.

The maid didn't notice her and directed a group of people to move things here and there and then entered the mansion.

The sky was growing darker and darker. There were at least a dozen people in the troupe, crowded together and making a lot of noise.

Lin Wanqing took advantage of the situation and followed the helpers into the Song Mansion, carrying the musical instruments from the cart.

They walked through the main courtyard and along the corridors beside the hall all the way to the back house of the mansion. They piled the things in their hands in a small room and followed the steward to set up the stage.

Lin Wanqing quickly and quietly went around to the other side of the room and followed the lame maid from a distance.

As she walked along, she roughly memorized the layout of the courtyard, avoided several guards at the gate of the courtyard, and followed her all the way to the main hall of the villa.

The maid pushed the door open and walked in.

Lin Wanqing had originally planned to stay here and wait until the troupe set up the stage and left before sneaking out, until a childish question came from behind her: "Who are you?"

It was a half-grown kid, holding a candy man in one hand, looking up at her with a frown.

Lin Wanqing was speechless and didn't know how to answer. But just as hesitantly, the little kid suddenly started shouting.

Children's voices are high-pitched, sharp and very penetrating.

Lin Wanqing wanted to cover his mouth, but he had already run away crying. Wouldn't it be tantamount to suicide to chase him?

She weighed the pros and cons and decided to find a deserted place to hide first.

There is a small room ten steps ahead. It is dark and there is no light, so there must be no one there.

She found the right place, came to a half-open window, and jumped in with her arms outstretched.

Soon, the footsteps of servants chasing and the noisy voices of people were heard outside the door.

Lin Wanqing was worried that they would break in, so she touched a wooden door panel in the dim moonlight.

She rubbed her hands over it for a few times and found that it was a tall wardrobe. She measured it secretly and found that it would not be a problem to fit herself in it.

The footsteps had reached the door, and someone took out a key to unlock it. The brass lock made a terrifying clicking sound.

Lin Wanqing didn't think any more and when she opened the closet, an arm suddenly stretched out from inside and pulled her hand into the closet!

The wooden door creaked open, but the room was as quiet as before.

The servants walked around with torches in their hands, and the furniture was banged with swords in their hands.

Lin Wanqing in the closet was almost terrified.

After the man pulled her in, he pressed the carotid artery on her wrist, and his other hand was now covering her mouth tightly.

What is going on? !

Is there anyone else besides her who has nothing better to do than come to the residence of a third-rank official and seek death? !

Lin Wanqing complained in her heart, but her body was stiff and she dared not move.

He was afraid of being found and also afraid of being killed. As his mind was in turmoil, sweat quickly dripped down his back.

"Don't make any noise," a cold and low voice sounded beside my ears, which was quite familiar.

Lin Wanqing was startled and wanted to turn her head to look, but was pushed back by the man.

"Don't move!" He was a little impatient and used a little more force on the hand that was pinching her artery.

At this time, the servant had completed a round of search and found nothing, so he was ready to leave.

A voice suddenly stopped when it reached the closet. The next moment, Lin Wanqing saw a beam of fire shining through the gap in the closet.

not good! He wants to open the closet!

The person behind her seemed to notice it, loosened her hand slightly, and pushed her forward.

No, the person behind the emotion is planning to throw her out when someone opens the door, and then wait for an opportunity to escape, right? !

"What are you doing?!" A sharp female voice came from outside the door, followed by a burst of chaotic footsteps.

Everyone present stopped their search and addressed her respectfully, "Aunt Wang."

Lin Wanqing felt her heart, which was about to jump out of her throat, suddenly relax a little. It seemed that she would not be kicked out for the time being.

"Can you servants just enter my bedroom?!"

"No, aunt." A light flashed in front of the gap in the wardrobe, and a man explained, "Just now the young master said that he saw a scary person, so Aunt Li asked us to come and take a look."

Aunt Wang sneered, "Who does Aunt Li think she is? There is a troupe of actors setting up the stage in our mansion tonight, it's normal to see one or two strangers. The young master is making a fuss, are you going crazy too?!"

Everyone choked and said nothing.

"Get out!" As Aunt Wang screamed, the sound of porcelain breaking was heard.

Then the fire dimmed and there was the sound of everyone leaving the dormitory.

Lin Wanqing finally breathed a sigh of relief, her tense nerves relaxed, and she let out a light breath.

She felt the person behind her shudder all over, and then asked in disbelief: "Lin Wanqing?"

Oh... I should have thought of it earlier, except for Lord Su, the Minister of Dali Temple, who else could be so ignorant as to visit the Song Mansion at night?

At this time, candles were lit in the room. Lin Wanqing turned around and nodded. In the faint light, she saw Su Moyi's helpless eyes.

After confirming each other's looks, both of them felt a little relieved.

Just as they were thinking about how to get out of this situation, they heard Aunt Wang's soft voice, calling out in a delicate voice to somewhere in the room: "Sanlang." "

..." They were both stunned at the same time. What was going on? !

With Lord Su's approval, Lin Wanqing opened the wooden door in front of him slightly.

With just one glance, both of them straightened up again to varying degrees.

A well-dressed man unexpectedly walked out from behind Aunt Wang’s bed!

No wonder, no wonder she reacted so strongly just now, it turned out that she had something to hide!

"Sanlang~" The voice of the woman in front of him was soft and wet.

She walked slowly towards the man who was sitting on the edge of the bed. Under the candlelight, her pair of snow-capped peaks hidden under the brocade rose and fell.

"Why are you here instead of going to the main hall to watch the show with the master? You almost got discovered." She spoke in a reproachful tone, but there was obvious seduction in her voice.

The person on the bed looked at her, smiled frivolously, and with a force of his hands, he pulled the person into his arms.

He stroked her fair cheek with one hand and reached between the woman's legs, which were tightly clamped together, with the other hand.

"My old man dad can't even protect himself now, and he's doing these useless things all day long. It would be more refreshing to clear it up here..." As he said this, he moved his long fingers, eliciting a series of moans from the woman.

"You haven't been here for a few days, Qingqing, don't you miss Sanlang?"

The man unbuttoned his pants while speaking. As soon as he let go, a purple-black object between his legs impatiently reached out, glaring at him with veins all around.

"Open your legs and let Sanlang come in and have a good time."

Lin Wanqing, in the closet, had no time to react to the situation in front of her. She was stunned like a stone statue...

The stepmother and her son were acting, and she and Su Moyi were watching...

This was too exciting...

Chapter 1 "On March 3, I will light a fire on Mao Yi Jian and draw out the smoke."  Lin Nianyin was awakened by a burst of chirping children's voices, and it was a bit cloudy and foggy for a while. She thought about her daughter again last night and didn't know when she fell asleep. How could she still dream about hearing the hometown dialect she hadn't heard in many years?   Even if she thinks about it daily and dreams about it at night, she should be allowed to dream about her daughter. These local accents would only remind her of the days when she was dragged and sucked by Dong Cuiping's family, unable to escape, and suddenly felt a sense of nausea in her heart that had finally calmed down.        Lin Nianyin didn't want to be haunted by these disgusting things in her dream, so she forced herself to open her eyes.   The object is a pair of hands.   The young hand, not very fair but delicate, seemed to be patting her body, but when she saw her e...

Chapter 9: I’m home  Aluminum lunch box While Aunt Liu was talking, memories s appeared in front of Shi Xiao ai's minds, all of which came from the memory of the original owner. In all those pictures, a large aluminum lunch box is indispensable. This lunch box would always appear on their window sill in the morning when it was still dark, and it would always be filled to the brim every time it was opened. Either a box of hot meat buns or a box of freshly fried dough sticks pressed into a porcelain shape. Another time, the aluminum lunch box was filled with a box full of sugar! At that time, the original owner had been suffering from a fever for several days. The old man was so anxious that he couldn't do anything to help him, so he had to hunt around and get this box of candy. This is the most nutritious thing the old man can find for his granddaughter.
